“I know you” – These simple words were a common greeting and life mantra for my grandfather. Anyone who knew him would tell you he never met a man he didn’t know and he always offered anything he had to someone in need.
That drive continues in me – Kpelle Studios was born to serve and build the OKC creative community.
I created this space from a longing for a place that felt sacred. A place where businesses created by women of color are centered, celebrated, and championed. A place where people from all walks of life can come together, learn from one another, and grow together.
Whether you’re needing space for creativity, a gathering place for a book club, a cornerstone for building something new, or a space to celebrate life’s special moments, Kpelle is here for you.
Chelsi strives to center joy in everything she touches. Chelsi wears many hats, but whatever mode she’s in, you can bet intentional connection is at the core. Her passion is creating spaces for Black women to share joy, for women to feel empowered, for mothers to feel supported, and for all to feel welcome.

She is and artist, photographer and creative designers behind Piece of Peace, LLC. With her unique artistic style, Jhanay has supported dozens of local businesses in sharing their voice and work with the community, and bringing their creative visions to life.
